great winter hair care with fractionated coconut oil

Our Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil is definitely our go-to product when it comes to making our hair look beautiful. It has been pressed from the seed of the Coconut palm Tree and the solid fatty acids have been removed from the coconut fat making it a thin, fluid, oil. As we now start to go into winter a lot of people will struggle with static hair - which seems to go hand in hand with big, winter jumpers!

A great tip is to mix some Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil and EcoSilk together and use it as a hair treatment. We often apply it to the ends of wet hair like a serum before drying. It will help to minimise split ends and makes your hair look silky and glossy, it will also help with those flyaway, static hairs!

Because Fractionated Coconut Oil has so many antioxidants it means that it works wonders on dry, heat damaged hair by giving it hydration. You can also use Fractionated Coconut Oil as a hair conditioner, either by adding a few drops into your normal hair conditioner to get the added benefits or simply using the oil as a stand-alone conditioner.

Below is a great recipe by Caroline Artiss for a hair mask that will leave your hair feeling fresh and silky. Perfect for those winter months! Give it a go and make sure to let us know what you think.

Honey, Coconut & Milk Hair Mask

Ingredients

120-250ml Full-Fat Milk
(depending on the length of your hair)
2 tablespoons Raw Organic Honey

Directions

Put all of the ingredients into a small saucepan and, stirring together, gently heat until just warm enough to touch. If it is too hot, leave it to cool down until it reaches body temperature.

Lean over a sink or bathtub and carefully pour the milk mixture slowly over your hair, massaging it into all the strands so the hair is completely covered. Squeeze out any excess liquid, then tie the hair up in a topknot and put a shower cap on your head and a towel around your neck in case it drips. Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes, then wash it out with warm water. Shampoo and condition as normal.

Note: As all hair types are different, you may or may not need to use conditioner after this hair mask. You can test it out without using any extra conditioner and see how your hair feels once it's dry.

Makes one application, use immediately and repeat once or twice a week.
