Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSRs) – What’s the Deal?

We’re very excited to bring you news of our new CPSR process. We are now offering ALL TYPES of CPSRs. They are cheaper and faster than ever before.

You can assess a wide range cosmetic products such as (but not limited to) -

Soaps (M&P or CP/HP), Bath Bombs, Bath Melts, Truffles, Bath & Body Oils, Body Lotions / Butters, Hair Products, Face Oils / Creams / Balms, Lip Balms, Beard Balms / Oils, Face & Body Scrubs, Face Masks...and much more!

Please note that the purpose of a CPSR is to ensure that the product is safe to sell. We make no claims as to the efficacy or stability of your product, as we will not be testing a physical sample of it. The formula must be made and trialled by yourselves prior to the product being submitted for assessment.

If you are in any doubt as to the validity or efficacy of your product, we strongly recommend you use our formulating services before submitting for CPSR. This will ensure that your recipe will be reviewed by a professional formulator, who will advise if your formula is suitable, and if not, will assist you with the necessary steps to ensure that it passes assessment. This may include additional stability testing, which will help ensure your product remains stable in a range of conditions and will give you an accurate shelf life for your product. Otherwise, it is your responsibility to make sure that your formula is suitable for its intended purpose before submitting for a CPSR.

What is a CPSR?

If you want to create and sell your own cosmetics, then a Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) is a legal requirement that must be written by a certified chemist. Also known as a Safety Assessment, a CPSR is a legal document required to ensure the safety of all cosmetic products placed on the retail market. You will need a CPSR regardless of whether you are making your own product from scratch or buying a cosmetic base from a supplier and adding your own scents etc.
