Custom Formulation Services

Want a unique product created just for your brand? Our Cosmetic Chemists will design a bespoke formula tailored to your requirements.

Your formulation fee will depend on the complexity of the formula and the amount of product you'd like us to manufacture, but as a rough guide:

Easy (£750 + VAT)
Simple anhydrous products like balms, oils, scrubs

Medium (£1,000 + VAT)
Emulsions and more technical products like creams, serums

Complex (£1,250 + VAT)
Advanced multi-phase or actives-rich formulations

What’s included:

- 3 sample iterations

- Expert formulation tailored to your brief

- INCI list (full formula available for an additional fee)

Lead Times:
3–4 weeks for the first sample
1–2 weeks for each subsequent sample

Discounts available on formulation fees for larger production orders (1,000+ units).

Formulation Review (£250 + VAT)

Already have a complete formula with ingredient percentages? Our Chemist will:

- Assess it for safety, performance, and compliance

- Suggest improvements if needed

- Advise on required testing for UK/EU markets

Perfect for brands preparing to manufacture.

Manufacturing & Filling

We also offer manufacturing and filling services in our UK-based facility:

- MOQs from 500 units (retail-ready filling)

- Bespoke bulk production from 25-50kg

- Label application using client-supplied designs

Production Lead Times:
3–6 weeks depending on order size and ingredient/packaging availability.

Intellectual Property (IP)

To keep development costs accessible for our clients, all custom formulations remain the intellectual property of Naturally Balmy as standard.

If you wish to own your formula outright, we offer:

Post-development buyout: £2,000 + VAT

Upfront buyout: £2,500–£3,000 + VAT (depending on complexity)

This gives you exclusive ownership of the formula and full ingredient percentages, enabling you to manufacture elsewhere if desired.
