Three DIY Indulgent Bath Truffle Recipes

There’s nothing better than indulging in a nice, warm bath along with some of your favourite pampering products. Something extra luxurious to also add in is one or two bath truffles! These are so much fun to make, look incredibly sweet, and often prove to be an extra nourishing treat for parched skin.

1. Apricot and Rose

- 35g Cocoa Butter

- 15g Apricot Kernel Oil

-  5 drops Rose Absolute

To make: Melt the cocoa butter in a double boiler, and then mix in the oil and rose once the melted butter has cooled slightly. Pour your mixture into small moulds and wait for them to set overnight or leave in the fridge. To use, pop one or two into a bath and relax.

2. Floral Bliss

-  30g Shea Butter

-  15g Mango Butter

-  10g Beeswax

- 3 drops Lavender Essential Oil

- 3 drops Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

- Small handful Dried Rose Petals

To make: Simply melt the butter and wax together in a double boiler. Take off the heat and allow to cool slightly before mixing in the essential oils and stirring thoroughly. Finally, sprinkle in the rose petals or save until later for decoration. Then pour the mixture into moulds (preferably silicone), and here you can put the petals on top or at the bottom or the moulds (whatever you prefer). Leave to set overnight, or put in the fridge until set.

3. Chocolate Orange Magic

- 30g Shea Butter

- 15g Sweet Almond Oil

- 80g Bicarbonate of Soda

- 35 g Citric Acid

- 15 drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil

-  1g Organic Chocolate Aroma

To make: Whisk the Shea butter and oil together with an electric whisk. Then add in the essential oil and aroma, and whisk again. Next, gradually add the bicarbonate of soda and citric acid together, whisking as you do add in a little each time. Give once final blend, and spoon into moulds.

To use, pop one into a bath and watch as the truffle melts and fizzes away, whilst bringing out a lovely sweet orange and chocolate scent!

Remember with all these products, that the bath will slippery after using one, so be careful!
