This wonderfully versatile ingredient has a large variety of uses, from nail polishes to aftershave lotions, hand sanitisers and perfume sprays, it can even be used to remove surface bubbles from your melt & pour soaps!
Isopropyl alcohol is miscible in water, ethanol, ether, and chloroform. It dissolves ethyl cellulose, polyvinyl butyral, many oils, alkaloids, gums and natural resins. Isopropyl alcohol is not miscible with salt solutions and can be separated from aqueous solutions by adding a salt such as sodium chloride.
