History and origins of Baobab Oil

Indigenous to the tropical Savannahs of Africa, the Baobab tree is unique in the sense that its roots are growing upwards, hence it is often referred to as the “upside-down tree”.

How is Baobab Oil made?

The oil is extracted from the seeds of the tree and is of a thick consistency. High in vitamins A and E and an emollient, it is often found in skin products due to its high fatty acid content, which helps with skin elasticity and acts as a barrier.

Is Baobab Oil suitable for vegans?

Yes.

Oleic acid – 30-40%; Linoleic acid – 24-34%; Palmitic acid – 18-30%; Stearic acid – 2-8%; Linolenic acid – 1-3%; Palmitoleic acid – less than 1%.
