Essential, Flavour & Fragrance oils

Which to choose?
Deciding which oils and flavours to use in your products can be a daunting prospect because there are so many to choose from, and all with different benefits! So here at Naturally Balmy, all our Essential Oils, Fragrance Oils and Flavours/Flavour Oils are available in quantities as small as 10ml so that they are affordable for testing and usage in small quantities, as well as being available in larger quantities once you know which products are the right ones for you and your formulations.

Essential Oils
Essential Oils are all-natural ingredients that are produced by extracting oils from plants via methods such as steaming and pressing. They are a fantastic choice to put in your products if you want to prioritise the inclusion of natural ingredients, and they’re also vegan friendly. Essential Oils are also known to have a wide variety of health benefits from one to the next, which is why they’re extremely popular in aromatherapy and candle making as well as cosmetics. Some essential oils, such as Mandarin or Peppermint, are safe for consumption in very small amounts within a recipe or formulation, which means they can be used as flavourings in lip balms and other lip products.

Fragrance Oils
Fragrance Oils are man-made products, usually created using a combination of natural and synthetic ingredients. Fragrance Oils come in a wider variety of scents than essential oils do, and they provide the opportunity to add evocative and imaginative scents to your products, such as Rainforest, Woodland Holiday or Fresh Garden, all of which would be difficult or impossible to achieve using a blend of Essential Oils. Some of our Fragrance Oils are imitations of popular high street fragrances, such as J.P.Gee Woman, Seduction for Men and Chancer, which are all great if you wish to use established fragrance blends in your products. Fragrance Oils are often more affordable and sustainable than essential oils, which can be expensive to produce, and many of them are vegan friendly and/or allergen-free too.

Lip Balm Flavours/Flavour Oils
Lip Balm Flavours and Flavour oils are often the perfect product for a wide variety of cosmetics, not just Lip Balms! The obvious benefit of flavours is that these products are all safe for consumption in small amounts within formulations, but if they happen to have the scent you’re looking for then there’s no reason not to put them in soaps, creams, lotions and loads of other products too. Like Fragrance oils they are man-made, but our range of Organic Lip Balm Flavour Oils are made from entirely natural ingredients, so they are ideal if you are looking to create all-natural and organic formulations. Lip Balm Flavours and Flavour Oils are also great if you prefer sweet and fruity scents, which are most popular in lip products, and most of them are both vegan friendly and allergen-free/low-allergen too.
