Our wonderful new Gel-to-milk Cleanser Base is a ready-to-use, versatile, cosmetic oily gel base which turns to a milky lotion on contact with water!
This is a ready-made base and requires no further addition of oil in order to create the Gel-to-milk effect.
Ready to use as it is as a cleansing gel, or as a base for facial / body scrubs and hydrating face masks.
Simply mix one or two ingredients (such as clays or exfoliants) into the gel, or use a multi-step process, and you can create a wide variety of finished products with no heat or sheer mixing required!
Based on sugar chemistry, this delightful base holds oil in place in a stable microemulsion, and when water is added the mix changes to produce a creamy, light lotion. It is made with 100% natural ingredients and is vegan friendly, gluten-free and preservative free.
As well as Gel-based products, you can use this base to make a wide variety of creams, lotions, milks, cleansers, bath oils, scrubs and body butters. The sky is the limit with this super-flexible, super-exciting ingredient!

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Aqua, Sucrose Laurate, Sucrose Stearate
How to Use:
Oils – (Vegetable, esters, silicones, synthetic oils, essential oils, oil based actives, fragrance oils etc) can be added at a level of up to 5%.
Glycerine – can give a pourable honey like texture to the gel at up to 25% by weight
Powders – Talc, Kaolin, bentonite and plant powders can be added to change the both the texture and the colour of the product. Scrub particles can also be incorporated.
Water or water based actives – should be added to the gel as the last step in a formulation and will create an emulsion. Any amount of water can be added depending on the viscosity and quantity of oil phase required. If more than 10% water is added a stabiliser may be required in the water phase, additionally at this quantity of water, the viscosity of your emulsion will come from the water phase.
Most of the above steps can be undertaken at room temperature with minimal stirring.
Your product must be kept at pH 4-8 to ensure stability.
