Why Stability Testing is Important
To legally sell cosmetic products in the UK and EU, you must confirm that they remain safe and stable throughout their intended shelf life. Under Cosmetic Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009, cosmetic products must demonstrate a minimum durability of 30 months, or otherwise be clearly marked with a Period After Opening (PAO).
Our accelerated stability testing programme simulates long-term storage by placing products under elevated temperature conditions for 12 weeks. This process replicates approximately 30 months of real-time storage at 20°C, allowing us to identify potential changes in appearance, texture, colour, odour, and overall performance in a shorter timeframe.

What You’ll Receive
A comprehensive final stability report issued after the 12-week testing period, detailing observations, results, and confirmation of stability under the tested conditions.
How to Submit Your Product for Testing
Please send a minimum of 300ml of your finished product in a suitable container. The product should not be pre-filled into retail packaging, as we will decant the product ourselves for testing.
Compatibility Testing (Optional Add-On)
Compatibility testing assesses how your formulation interacts with its intended packaging over time. This ensures there are no adverse reactions such as leaching, discolouration, material degradation, or changes to product performance caused by contact with the packaging.
If you are purchasing compatibility testing alongside stability testing, please send:
- Four samples of the final packaging you intend to use.
- A minimum of 4 x the amount of product needed to fill the packaging. Please ensure the product is packaged separately to the final packaging, ready for us to decant.
