Baby products are notoriously expensive to assess, as more toxicology is required than usual.

So in light of that, we have created this unique, flexible ready-made Organic Baby Soap assessment for those who want to add baby products to their range without breaking the bank.

This assessment allows the use of our Organic Melt & Pour Soap base with selected essential oils & colours (see below). You can have 5 variants of soap in total; Unscented, Lavender, Orange, Chamomile and Lavender & Chamomile. You can even add colours to the scented soaps, and can mix the colours together too to achieve the shade you desire. However, the essential oils cannot be mixed together, unless specified. 

All ingredients MUST be purchased from us for this assessment to be valid.

This assessment is valid for soaps for use on babies over 3 months, however the unscented variation can be used from newborn.
Allowable Essential Oils:

Lavender Essential Oil (English)

Sweet Orange Essential Oil

Blue Chamomile Essential Oil

(Total allowable Essential oils = 0.25%)

Allowable Colours:

Sweet Baby Blue Mica Colour

Blushed Pink Mica Colour

Clementine Pop Mica Colour

(Total allowable Mica = 0.5%)

PLEASE NOTE: The colours can be mixed together however you like, but the TOTAL mica concentration must not exceed 0.5%.

Variation 1: Organic Lavender Baby Soap

99.25% Organic Soap Base + 0.25% Lavender Essential Oil + your choice of mica colours (Max 0.5% mica allowed)

Variation 2: Organic Chamomile Baby Soap

99.25% Organic Soap Base + 0.25% Blue Chamomile Essential Oil + your choice of mica colours (Max 0.5% mica allowed)

Variation 3: Organic Orange Baby Soap

99.25% Organic Soap Base + 0.25% Sweet Orange Essential Oil + your choice of mica colours (Max 0.5% mica allowed)

Variation 4: Organic Unscented Baby Soap

100% Organic Soap Base (Unscented)

(No additions allowed) - Suitable for use on newborns

Variation 5: Organic Lavender & Chamomile Baby Soap

99.25% Organic Soap Base + 0.125% Lavender Essential Oil + 0.125% Blue Chamomile Essential Oil + your choice of mica colours (Max 0.5% mica allowed)


Product Information

You can make all the flavours mentioned, using any combination of the colours with any flavour, but you cannot mix the flavours together. 

Please Note: Other additions are not allowed using this assessment. All the above flavours have to be purchased from us.

What's Required From You

We don't need to physically see your products to produce your safety assessment. As this assessment is pre-written, no product details will be required from you - we just need your name and address to put on the certificate. This assessment cannot be changed in any way.

Prior to investing in our Starter Assessments, we recommend that customers purchase a small amount of the ingredients involved in order to test the products and see if they are fit for your intended purpose.

Starter Assessments FAQ

Do I have to purchase all the ingredients through Naturally Balmy? Yes, otherwise the pre-written assessment would not match the ingredients being used, and it would become invalid.

Can my Assessment be cancelled or refunded? No, once you have purchased the product and your assessment is being processed we cannot reverse the process. 

What else do I have to do to sell these products legally? You need to create a PIF (Product Information File) and include your assessment within this file. You also need to notify your products on the UK Portal and make sure your labelling is correct. For assistance, we provide CLP Services here, and PIF Authoring Services here. 

Am I the RP (Responsible Person) for this product, or are you? You are the RP for this product so you will need to create the PIF and notify it on the UK Portal.

Do I need to put your name on the label? No, as you are the RP (Responsible Person), you just put your own name on the label.

Do I need to notify the product on the UK Portal, or do you? You do - see above.
