Naticide is an exciting natural preservative, made from essential oil compounds, which also acts as a fragrance - making this a 2-in-1 product!
Naticide is a Trade name and not acceptable for use on your product labels ingredient list. The correct INCI name for your label, when using Naticide is Parfum or Fragrance. This means, you can technically describe your product as preservative-free!
Naticide is a vegetable-based preservative with a Vanilla and Almond aroma used to preserve cosmetic formulations, providing good product stability and resistance to microbial contamination. In many cases, you may want to keep Naticide as the main fragrance, or add a complementary fragrance, however if you are already fragrancing your product, particularly with citrus, Naticide may clash with the scent. Testing small batches first is advised.
Being a natural preservative, it also conforms to consumer demands for naturally-derived cosmetic ingredients and preservative-free products.
Its broad spectrum activity allows it to be the only preservative needed in a cosmetic formulation.
