This Coconut Shell Exfoliant is a 100% natural exfoliating ingredient derived from the hard shell of coconuts grown in the sun-drenched Ben Tre province of Vietnam. This region, known for its lush coconut groves and year-round tropical climate, produces coconuts of exceptional quality. Harvested at full maturity—typically between 9 and 12 months—the coconuts are first used by the food industry for their juice, oil, and flesh. Rather than let any part go to waste, we upcycle the discarded shells to create a sustainable and effective skincare ingredient.
After the fibrous membrane is removed, the coconut shells are finely ground into a uniform powder. The natural hardness of the shell gives the resulting exfoliating particles a high level of abrasiveness—enough to effectively polish the skin without causing damage.
